ABOUT ANDREW

Andrew has been a resident of Riverview since 1993 when he moved here from Hampton, NB. Passionate about youth engagement, Andrew has worked to provide programs and services for youth since 2003. Currently, he is the Executive Director for the Atlantic Wellness Community Center, which offers free mental health services for youth ages 12-21. He is the former Program Director for the Boys & Girls Club of Riverview, overseeing the Drop In Youth Center programming, After School Adventure Camp, all school programs like Power Hour and connecting with other organizations to build partnerships with groups such as the Riverview Seniors Club, Parks and Recreation and more. Through his work he has promoted the framework of the 40 Developmental Assets. He has also worked with the United Way as an ALL STAR COACH.

Andrew lives in Ward 1 with his wife, Patricia, daughter Amelia and their dog Bennie. Andrew enjoys DDPYoga and is an avid musician. Andrew performs with local music group The AJs as well as other local musicians on occasion.
 

Prior to being elected, Andrew was active in the community and served/serves with the following groups and organizations (See Portfolio for more):


·         Riverview Crime Prevention Committee (Vice President)
·         United Way's Youth Relations Council (Adult Facilitator)

·         Riverview Youth Advisory Council (Adult Facilitator)
·         Riverview High School Parent School Support Committee
·         Pink Shirt Day NB– Bully Prevention (Chair)

Andrew was first elected to Council on May 14, 2012 and re-elected on May 9, 2016. As Councillor at Large, Andrew represents the residents of all 4 Wards in the Town of Riverview.
