Good evening everyone! We had a shorter meeting tonight, but a productive one nonetheless. Good news is the snow is gone! Bad news, our roads have some holes. Time to get-a-fixin!

2.Ratify Unforeseen Grants
3.Partial Road Closure
4.Controlled Ride – Motor Maids
5.Resolution – Building Inspectors
6.Water and Sewer Collection
7.New Deputy Mayor Elected
8.Ad-Hoc Council Compensation Committee
9.Grant Report
10.Building Canada Fund Resolution
1.June 1-7 is Shriners week! June 6 is Shriners International Day.
2.Unforeseen Grants
Council ratified the following grants from our previous C.O.W meeting: $1100 U13 Basketball Team, $5/plate for Atlantic Nationals kickoff breakfast at the Riverview Lions Club and $1500 for the Wildcats Celebrity Sports Banquet (proceeds go to Pro KIDS).
3.Council approved a partial street closure on Cleveland Ave, on June 27, from 8:30am – 5:00pm for a 3 on 3 basketball tournament hosted by the RHS Basketball Booster Club.
4.Council authorized a “controlled ride” put on by the Motor Maids on July 7 at 7:00pm taking place along Coverdale Rd and across the Causeway.
5.Resolution re: building inspectors. The Town of Riverview purchases it’s building and inspection services from the City of Moncton. In light of this, it is necessary that we pass a resolution authorizing certain staff to enforce our by-laws. As there is a change in staff with the city, the Town of Riverview must pass a resolution to allow new staff the authority to enforce our by-laws and remove the authority from the previous staff. The new staff are Renee Boudreau, Marc Doiron and Christian Martin.
6.Water and Sewer Collection – Council passed a motion to direct staff to take immediate action to enforce guidelines for water and sewer account collection (accounts past due).
7.Councillor Ian Macdonald was elected as the Deputy Mayor for the coming year. The Deputy Mayor is chosen every May. Congratulations to Deputy Mayor Macdonald and thanks for Councillor Russell Hayward for his service as Deputy Mayor for the past year.
8.Ad-Hoc Compensation Committee – Mayor Seamans appointed an ad-hoc committee to develop a policy to determine how/if Council is to have an increase in compensation. The intent is to eliminate the need for Council to debate it’s own raising (ex: cost of living increase)
9.Grant Report – Council approved the following grants: $1000 table purchase at the Special Olympics NB Gala and $235 to the Greater Moncton Association for Community Living’s 2015 FUN Challenge.
10.Building Canada Fund Resolution – Council passed a resolution to submit these four projects to the Fund.
-Purchase of 2 buses for public transit system
-Repair Mill Creek Dam
-Replace Pine Glen culvert
-Construction of Bridgedale Blvd
