Lions Club Cavalcade Council accepted the motion to allow the Riverview Lions Club to conduct a cavalcade beginning at the Riverview Lions Club and continuing down one lane of Coverdale Road to the gazebo. The cavalcade will take place on May 9 from 10:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Park Name Change Council accepted the request made by the Riverview Lions Club to rename Lion Ken Gabbey Park. The park located at the corner of Buckingham Avenue and Killarney Road will now be called the Riverview Lions Community Park. Daffodil Month Council recognizes April as Daffodil Month in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. Audited Financial Statements Council accepted the 2014 Audited Financial Statements report that was presented at the last Committee of the Whole by AC Stevenson & Partners. Capital Budget - Five Year General Fund Council passed a resolution to adopt the five year (2015-2019) capital expenditure plan. This plan was previously presented in detail by staff at a Council Meeting on March 30, 2015. The total capital expenditures budgeted for this five year period total slightly less than $50 million. The plan also includes the details of the sources of financing for these capital items. Long Term Debt Borrowing Application Council passed a resolution to submit an Application For Authorization To Borrow an amount, not to exceed $16,575,000, to the provincial Municipal Capital Borrowing Board. These funds, upon approval, shall be used to finance the construction of a new Operations Centre location which will house Engineering, Public Works and Parks operations. Local Improvements By-Law - Trites Road Council heard the third and final reading of the Local Improvements By-Law in regards to the third phase of reconstruction on Trites Road. This work is scheduled to be complete by the end of summer.

Tenders The Town awarded the following tenders:

• Tender for asphalt concrete patching for $340,412.50 to MacDonald Paving and Construction Ltd.

• Tender for asphalt concrete paving of various streets for $713,011 to MacDonald Paving and Construction Ltd.

• Tender for traffic lane marking for $73,591.65 to Stripe Works.

• Tender for the supply and delivery of crushed rock for $75,859.16 to Camrose Sand & Gravel.

• Tender for the purchase of a new passenger van, while trading in an old one, for the amount of $30, 071.56 to Moncton Motors.

Riverview Public Library Board Council appointed resident Faith Nicholson to the Riverview Public Library board. New Street Name Announced Council put a motion forward to name the new street, leading to the new public works centre, Robertson Street. Mayor Seamans explained that the name honours Brenda Robertson who was the first woman elected to the Legislative Assembly in New Brunswick as well as the first woman to become a cabinet minister in the province. Robertson was re-elected four times (1970, 1974, 1978, and 1982) representing the district of Riverview. Grant Report Council awarded $5000 to Habitat for Humanity to assist with the cost of service installation at the Habitat home built in Riverview East over the past year. Council awarded $1500 to the Riverview Bantam AA Blues hockey team to assist with costs associated with their representation of Riverview at the Provincial Hockey Tournament. Council Statements Sustaina-palooza - Council encouraged residents to register for the upcoming Sustaina-palooza events from April 16-18 at the Chocolate River Station. Council encouraged residents to continue to make healthy choices all year round.
