Riverview Councillor Andrew LeBlanc To Seek Re-Election At Large
Riverview, NB - Riverview Councillor Andrew LeBlanc has announced he will seek re-election as Councillor at Large in the upcoming municipal election on May 9. LeBlanc has lived in Riverview for more than 20 years and is the Program Director for the Boys & Girls Club of Riverview. He lives with his wife Patricia, daughter Amelia and dog Bennie, in Ward 2
LeBlanc says he has worked to ensure fiscal responsibility, increased transparency through social media to keep residents informed and provide residents with a strong voice, advocating on their behalf.
“I’m proud of the work Council has been able to accomplish in our first term. We’ve built a great foundation for growth and invested in initiatives, such as the Mill Creek Park Development, Wellness Center and Active Transportation Plan. We implemented a sustainable development plan, a pavement management program addressing the backlog of tertiary roads, new initiatives to support businesses including nine recommendations from the Ad Hoc Business Advisory Council and much more. Moving forward, we will continue our sustainable development efforts, offer support for commercial growth and address the items Council has included in the five and ten year capital plans, such as park and playground upgrades and infrastructure investment”.
LeBlanc was one of the co-founders of the Riverview Neighbourhood Watch Committee, board member with the Riverview Arts Center, member of Envision Riverview and chaired the Pink Shirt Day NB Committee (bullying prevention campaign). He served on the Fundy Chocolate River Station Review Committee, Chaired the Riverview 40th Anniversary Committee and sits on the Codiac Tranpso Governance Committee. LeBlanc also spearheaded an online campaign to bring IKEA to Riverview.
“I’m honoured to have been entrusted with a seat on Council for the last four years and would love the opportunity to continue working on behalf of Riverview residents”.
